We spend the winter bundled up, hustling from place to place and trying not to slip on the ice in the process. The wind finds new places to catch us. That chill sinks deep. Into. Our. Bones.
Then, spring arrives.
On Thursday, May 7, from 5:30-7:30 we will have our 7th annual “rite of spring” on the patio in Arlington: Shed Your Coat, a pig-pull and oyster-roast to benefit Doorways for Women and Families. We’ll get a big pig out there (how about 100 pounds?) and fill the grill with oysters. The beer will flow. We’ve got some great raffle prizes, too, like a signed hockey puck and restaurant gift certificates from our pals (thanks pals!). $25 gets you in the door and fills your plate and your glass; raffle tickets are $5 each, or 5 for $20.
All the proceeds go to support the good work Doorways does for abused women and their children all over Arlington. Doorways is a lifeline for people tumbling into an abusive downward spiral. We are honored that they have been our partner for seven years, and we salute all they do to make Arlington a better, safer place for all.
So come eat well, enjoy a late-spring evening on the patio, and do good for your community, all at once.
