When you crave authentic, wood-smoked barbeque, you know where to go. But when you need a place for 30 of your closest friends, relatives, or coworkers, you might not realize your favorite smokehouse can host the whole event.

People often think of us for off-site catering, a quick lunch, or an easy dinner. We’re all of those things, but we’re also a gathering place. Our restaurants offer the kind of laid-back, welcoming atmosphere where guests can relax, cold drinks keep flowing, and the food is something everyone will talk about later. Best of all, we handle the setup, service, and cleanup.
Our Arlington location even has a dedicated private event room with seating for 53 guests and a full capacity of 65. There’s no room charge and no cap on time, so you don’t have to spend the evening watching the clock.
From festive corporate holiday parties in our Arlington private room to casual rehearsal dinners, milestone birthdays, and spirited watch parties, here’s a look at the events you can host with us.
Look #1: The Festive Corporate Holiday Party
The vibe: Merry, relaxed, and a major upgrade from the corporate boardroom.
Holiday parties should feel like parties, not mandatory meetings with decorations. At Rocklands, coworkers can put away the laptops, grab a drink, and share a barbeque spread in a setting that feels casual and genuine.

The space in Arlington is especially well suited to company holiday parties, Q4 kickoff dinners, team-building events, corporate happy hours, client appreciation gatherings, promotion parties, and company lunches. Because it’s separate from the main dining room, your team gets a private atmosphere for speeches, presentations, awards, or simply letting loose.
The room includes:
- A TV with plug-in capabilities
- Wi-Fi
- Music
- A private restroom
- A soda fountain
- Seating for 53 guests
- Full capacity for up to 65 guests
- A room and buffet attendant
- No room charge
- No cap on time
We offer set menus for buffet service, which is the most popular choice for private events. Depending on the occasion and menu, groups may also choose premium options such as grilled salmon or smoked beef tenderloin. Guests can order alcohol at the bar, and we can help organize service so the event runs smoothly from the first arrival to the final toast.
For most office managers and event planners, the real benefit is simple: less work. You bring the team. We’ll take care of the barbeque, drinks, space, service, and cleanup.
Look #2: The Casual Rehearsal Dinner or Wedding Welcome Party
The vibe: Warm, welcoming, and stress-free before the big day.
Not every wedding event needs assigned seats, elaborate centerpieces, or a formal three-course dinner. Sometimes the best way to bring two families together is with a cold drink, a plate of barbeque, and permission to relax.

Our Arlington private room offers couples a comfortable space for rehearsal dinners, wedding welcome parties, post-wedding brunches, and casual lunches with out-of-town guests. The TV can be used for a photo slideshow or video, music helps set the mood, and the private restroom and soda fountain make the room feel self-contained.
Our Alexandria and Washington, DC, locations can also accommodate large group reservations. If a private room isn’t essential, we can help create a designated home base for your guests in the dining room or another available area.
Buffet service makes it easy for guests to choose what they like and return for more. We offer set buffet menus as well as catering menu options, including appetizers, with at least 48 hours’ notice for catering items. Cakes are welcome, too, so you can bring a dessert that fits your celebration.
A Rocklands rehearsal dinner is the antidote to a stiff, overly formal wedding event. It gives people a chance to meet, mingle, and get comfortable before the big day. It won’t feel like a second wedding reception.
Look #3: The Milestone Birthday Bash
The vibe: Lively, a little messy in the best way, and easy for everyone to enjoy.
Milestone birthdays call for a real celebration. So do graduations, baptisms, retirement parties, sports team dinners, and all the other moments that deserve more than a group text and a grocery-store sheet cake.

We host all kinds of family and community celebrations, including:
- Birthday parties
- Graduation parties
- Retirement parties
- Baptisms
- Sports team gatherings
- Promotion parties
- Celebrations of life
- Bus groups and tour groups
Our Arlington private room gives larger groups a dedicated space, but every Rocklands location can host gatherings. Depending on availability and group size, we may be able to arrange tables or reserve a section of the dining area at our Alexandria or DC restaurants. Calling ahead gives us time to prepare the space, staff appropriately, and make sure the kitchen is ready for your crew.
Groups can choose buffet service or order à la carte. For some events, our team can also take food orders using handheld devices, making individual ordering easier for the group. Alcohol is available for purchase at the bar.
We know family parties often come with different ages, preferences, and dietary needs. Our team can help you choose an approach that works for your guests. And since we do the cooking and cleanup, nobody gets stuck hosting at home or washing a mountain of dishes after everyone leaves.
Look #4: The Alumni Watch Party and Community Gathering
The vibe: High-energy, communal, and spirited.
Some occasions are simply better with a crowd. College football games, fantasy football drafts, school fundraisers, alumni meetups, and neighborhood association gatherings all feel more fun when everyone has a plate of barbeque in front of them.
Our restaurants have the casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes these events easy. Guests can arrive, order what they want, grab a drink, and settle in. At Arlington, the private room’s TV and plug-in capabilities make it a strong choice for watch parties, presentations, and group activities. The enclosed setting gives your group room to cheer without competing with the main dining area.
Our other locations can work well for community gatherings, too. While we welcome walk-ins, organizers should contact us in advance for large groups. Reserving ahead gives us the best chance to keep everyone together and near the action.
Rocklands has always been a neighborhood spot. Booking a group event with us simply scales that experience up for your whole crew.
Food and Service, Your Way

No two events work exactly the same way, so we offer several options for food and service.
Most private parties choose one of our set menus for buffet service. It’s easy for the host, gives guests choices, and keeps the event moving. Groups can also order à la carte, and handheld order taking may be available to make individual food orders more efficient.
Additional appetizers and dishes can be selected from our catering menu with at least 48 hours’ notice. Guests may purchase alcohol at the bar, and cakes are welcome.
A room and buffet attendant is provided for Arlington private-room events. In special cases, we may be able to arrange a fully catered and staffed event through our catering office. This requires advance planning and is handled as a custom request, so talk with us early if you need that level of service.
How to Book Your Space

The Arlington private room is one of our most popular options, particularly on weekends and during the November and December holiday season.
If you have a date in mind, we recommend booking as soon as possible. Reservations fill quickly.
Before contacting us, it helps to know:
- Your estimated number of guests
- Your preferred date and time
- Which Rocklands location you’re considering
- Whether you prefer buffet or à la carte service
- Whether you want to add items from our catering menu
- Any needs for the TV, music, or room setup
The Arlington room seats 53 guests and has a full capacity of 65. There’s no room charge and no cap on time. If Arlington isn’t the right fit or if you prefer Alexandria or DC, we’ll talk through what may be possible for your group at another location.

Your Event, Our Smokehouse
You can stop scrolling through generic “event spaces near me” that lack personality and leave you responsible for food, drinks, rentals, and cleanup.
The best events happen when the food is memorable and the atmosphere feels genuine. Whether you’re planning a corporate holiday party, rehearsal dinner, milestone birthday, celebration of life, graduation, or game-day gathering, we give your group a comfortable place to come together, with zero pretension and plenty of wood-smoked barbeque.
