We have been catering and providing excellent customer services for over 30 years and we do it very well! Our catering team has the finesse and drive to create memorable events \u2013 no matter the size \u2013 that you and your guests will love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Snedden, owner and founder, loved to barbeque whole pigs back in his college fraternity days and has been perfecting the craft ever since.  Since 1990, ROCKLANDS has been building relationships and clients everywhere in town – from the White House to national museums to Mom and Dad\u2019s back yard. We have assembled a team that believes in going above and beyond, that loves to create the perfect experience for you and your guests, and that makes your life oh-so-much-easier when planning that special occasion!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wayland Shotwell, Catering Director<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A \u201chome grown-homer\u201d, Wayland was born in Fairfax and raised in Mclean, VA. After graduating from East Carolina University with a bachelor\u2019s degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics, Wayland caught the hospitality bug and has been with ROCKLANDS in various roles since 2000. Outside of work, Wayland has a beautiful wife and 4 amazing kids and very much enjoys his fatherhood journey. He and his family have an interest in hobby farming and have two dogs, a flock of chickens, and a hog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little known fact: Wayland\u2019s nickname around the office is \u201cThe Unicorn Whisperer\u201d!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cliff Williams, Office Manager & Accountant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cliff is a native Virginian and has lived in the DC area for the past 12 years. He grew up with an Eastern North Carolina BBQ background, frequenting the likes of Ralph\u2019s, Grady\u2019s and King\u2019s. Cliff went to the University of Alabama, where he grew familiar with Alabama white sauce and experienced the incredible spare ribs at Dreamland BBQ. When not at work, Cliff competes on the KCBS BBQ circuit and is a certified judge. You can generally find his team, Old Town Smokers, competing at most events in the DC and the surrounding area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little known fact: The Old Town Smokers were Delaware State Champions in pork in 2016.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Carmen Williams, Marketing Assistant, Catering Operations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Carmen has lived in Alexandria for 30 years, and spent several years living in both North Carolina and beautiful Hawaii. With a degree in Elementary Education from Bennett College (and a minor in Special Education), Carmen has been working at ROCKLANDS since 2004, starting out in the kitchen. Outside of work, Carmen enjoys canning and going to the movies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little known fact: Carmen loves going to the movies so much that she saw 65 movies in 2019 and canned close to 20 dozen jars of assorted jams in 2020!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Michael Arbec, Catering Operations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Michael grew up a military brat but has lived in Northern Virginia for a few years now. Michael has a degree in Business Administration and originally started working for ROCKLANDS as a grill man at on site catered events. He has now taken to coordinating the events rather than grilling for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little known fact: Michael is an amateur photographer, and currently very interested in Lunar photography.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Beatriz Delcid, Lead Sales Associate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beatriz was born in Washington, DC, raised in Maryland, and studied Hospitality Management. Both of her parents worked for ROCKLANDS, and Beatriz is carrying on their legacy and rocking it in the Catering Office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little known fact: She loves to bake and her specialty is Oreo cheesecake brownies!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hunter Webre, Catering Sales Associate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hunter was born in New Orleans, LA and raised in Alexandria, VA. He began working for ROCKLANDS at the age of 16 as a CSR at our Alexandria location, and has returned to work in the Catering Office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little known fact: He enjoys programming and is pursuing a degree in Computer Science. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Maggie Farley, Catering Sales Associate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Maggie was born in New Hampshire, but her love for BBQ was ignited during her formative years spent visiting family in Texas. Despite her New England roots, Maggie has called Northern Virginia home for the past 26 years. With a passion for hospitality, she has dedicated the last 8 years to the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fun fact: Maggie loves camping and the outdoors! She once went on a month long camping trip traveling throughout Washington State.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jimena Torrico, Catering Sales Associate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jimena was born and raised in Alexandria, VA and is pursuing a degree in Animation in Pennsylvania. During the school year, she focuses on her studies, but around the holidays and during the summer months, she helps us out in the Catering Office. Outside of work, she enjoys hanging and relaxing with her cat, Jiji. Jimena worked for a year in the catering industry before finding her place in ROCKLANDS!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fun Fact: Jimena loves paper origami!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
