Amazing, isn’t it? We’ve been serving up great barbeque for 20 years now! (Doesn’t this LOOK like a 20-year old photo?) It was in 1990 that we opened our doors on Wisconsin Avenue. Getting ready was not pretty. When we opened, neighbors and friends, attracted by our signature smoky aroma, came to support us . . . and kept coming back for the food. We are so thankful for all of our loyal fans!
We’ve always tried to make sure that Rocklands is a good value. When we looked back at some of our 1990 prices, we felt pretty good. In 1990, you paid about $1.34 for a gallon of gas — now, it’s more than double that. At Rocklands, you paid $6.27 for a barbequed chopped pork sandwich, a side or a salad, and a drink.
At the Rocklands of today, you’d normally pay $8.99 for that chopped pork sandwich, side and drink. In honor of our anniversary, however, we are ROLLING BACK THAT PRICE to 1990. All day on December 1, 2010, at every Rocklands, we’ll be offering our Double-X Anniversary Special — $6.27 for a barbequed chopped pork sandwich, a side or a salad, and a drink. It’s supposed to be a chilly gray day on our anniversary — come celebrate with some great barbeque, will you?
