Ten years ago this weekend we opened Rocklands Alexandria. We first spotted our slightly out-of-the-way location at 25 South Quaker Lane because it had great space for our catering operations. Along with that big kitchen came a quirky storefront of a restaurant . . . and that was all she wrote.
Hidden as we are, it took a while for you all to find us. Fans in search of the real stuff have followed the aroma off Duke Street. Over the years we’ve been privileged to meet and serve Alexandria parents, students, first-responders, federal workers, retirees, delivery people, just plain great folk.
To thank you for making us part of your neighborhood and your day, we’re having a weekend-long celebration. Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26, we’ll be offering $2.00 chopped pork or pulled chicken super-sliders. All Port City beers (yes, another great neighbor!) will be $2.50; 12-ounce Anderson Valley beers will be $2.00. And each day we’ll raffle off a $50 Rocklands gift certificate — that’s a lot of Rocklands-dollars to spend on your real barbeque.
Come by, say hi, and let us thank you for ten delicious years.
